Tiiätkö, viime kesänä pohdin Turussa yhdessä vaiheessa sitä, et hei Jeesus, mihin mun rohkeus oikein valuu? Ja tajusin, et aaah, mun pitää vaan mennä takasin sille paikalle, mistä sen sainkin! So good. Armoa! Muistan, miten keväällä mietin, mitä kaikkia mahdollisuuksia mulla on edessä Suomessa ja yllättäen totuus iski. Muistan surreeni ääneen: "God, I CAN DO NOTHING... I can do nothing! I can do NOTHING!" ja yllättäen hän täydentää lauseen mielessäni: "The Son can do nothing of himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does." Johannes 5:19. Now when they saw the boldness and unfettered eloquence of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and untrained in the schools [common men with no educational advantages], they marveled; and they recognized that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13 (AMP) Jouluiloa, valoa ja taivaallista rohkeutta teille toivottaen, Heidi

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 Ihmeellistä! Mun missiomatka tulee tänä vuonna olemaan YWAM baselle San Franciscoon. Keep in touch, my loves!! This is amazing! My missions trip will be to YWAM base in San Franciso. The presence of God fell on me right in reading the acceptance letter, wow. We had our first meeting this week and I'm getting really excited: we prophecied over SF, prayed, worshipped and ate brownies. So sweet! During this trip our team will see our "passion for Jesus explode in power, honour and the miraculous, both on the streets and in the churches of San Francisco!" We will be taking risks sharing the gospel, healing the sick, and seeing people set free! There will also be "opportunities to love on both the church community, and the homeless, the prostitutes and general passers by." We don't have to travel far to be used by God and to be deeply moved and move others deeply (well, though San Fran is pretty far from Finland). People need Jesus NEXT DOOR. Who will reach the western world? We'll have a great amount of opportunities to be stretched out of our comfort zones in the heart of California! My friend just shared with me her experience about the slums in San Fran, huh. I don't know what we're exactly going to do there but I'm so willing to go to these places and serve and love people. One day at school God showed me His compassion: I couldn't even stay standing when His love fell and made me cry and laugh at the same time. There is no hopeless in Him – despite the circumstances. The heart and passion of the Bethel Mission Trips Department is to see the sons and daughters of God in all the nations awaken to His goodness and love. As children of Heaven, we have access to His Kingdom and demonstrate His love, glory, and power in all aspects of society. Our strategy is to raise up a generation of world changers in their own nations to begin to run with their God-given inheritance to bring heaven to earth and transform their nation. This trip, through Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM), ultimately reflects the vision of the Bethel Mission Trips Department. My greatest joy would be if you'd feel it in your heart to pray for me and for this trip & year! — The unity of our team: joy and love — That God would open the right doors and lead us miraculously! — Healings, miracles and that MANY SOULS would be saved — That we would really be able to bless, encourage and equip the local people and YWAM base If you feel like you'd like to donate for this trip (cost is $700), it can be done through the following link: donate. All money goes to the Bethel Missions and any extra will be given to other students or/and missions trips. Even Visa Electron works! Thank you for your gift and for your prayers! I love testimonies about crazy, fearless courage because they awaken something in me. A warrior. A giant killer. OHHH I can feel the lioness in me arise every time I hear people share about how brave they were in peaching the Kingdom, sharing the Gospel, fighting for justice and loving the one in front of them. Testimonies remind me of my identity. I'm really in a season of new courage in my life and have begun to see that God really comes to back me up when I take new steps in faith. I think that courage is an overflow of God's love in our hearts. Yeah, the Holy Spirit WANTS to come out! I wonder if He ever kinda gets a change if we keep on feeding and resurrecting our fleshly desires, which make & keep us empty and never full and never ready to serve and love truly. We are called to love one another like we love ourselves and like we love God. We are called to love one another in the same way that God loves us. If we never encounter the love of God and receive it for ourselves — we don't have much to share. God well of love will never run dry (unlike ours). Christmas 2012. We were praying with my dear friends and asking: "MORE OF YOU GOD. OWERFLOW!!!!! OVERFLOW! We want to be FILLED WITH YOU and fill this earth with the knowledge of You!" once again. "The waters are longing for to be walked on again." Bill Johnson So... on my way back home to Turku by train a guy sat before me and asked me about my guitar. I don't have anything to lose, I realized. What if I didn't hide who I really am? The conversation led to a point where I got to share this man (who happened to be just finishing his doctoral thesis on philosophy) about a God who LIVES and was thrilled how interested that (obviously a wise and thoughtful) guy was in my view of life and how I saw Jesus and ethics. I shared to him how God had just recently healed my back in a service where the preacher got a word of knowledge of someone's back being healed. It came up then that the man had a back problem so I suggested if I could pray for him (there were other people in that wagon with us but I can't remember how many exactly.. because I wasn't paying attention to them). I placed my hand on him and prayed... something? And the next moment the man stood up and started stretching himself and trying out his back. What happened? he asked. It felt sore this morning and the other mornings before. YEAAAAH GOD. I wrote him back a month and then a year later to ask how he was doing and got an understanding that his back is still fine. Wow, it might have been a miracle. :) The fun didn't end there. After I left that train and changed for another, the train conductor of the new train came to check my ticked, noticed my guitar (THANK GOD FOR MY GUITAR!) and asked if I could come to play to the restaurant wagon. (I had played in a train once before but then the conductor asked me to stop-- which is also a funny strory!) Hmmmmm seriously, I asked him, Does it matter if I only know gospel songs? Well, apparently it did not :D I ended up playing and singing in the restaurant wagon for the train conductor and some other people who were buying sandwiches & beer and eating them there. WOW! "Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point." C. S. Lewis This courage theme is one of the reasons I like Todd White so much. I came across a clip on Youtube where he was preaching and the following is what I wrote down from his message. You will love it! It's about the Kingdom-lifestyle. What does it mean to follow Jesus anyway? <<Jesus didn't say: "I am the way to Heaven." He also didn't say: "I am the truth about Heaven." He said: "I am the way, the truth and the life." He didn't say: "No one gets to Heaven but by me." He said: "No one comes to the Father except by me." So, Jesus is not just the "way to Heaven" but to the Father. "And this is eternal life that––!!" ..they might go to Heaven? Absolutely not. "And this is eternal life: that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." I (quoting Todd White here) think that Jesus' definition of Heaven is better than the one we've made up. We preach to people: "Get your name written to the book of life and live like hell 'til you get there." But it's not just about praying a prayer to get to Heaven! It's about putting off the old nature and taking on the brand new one. So that you can become a son again. Jesus came because you are a son who lost his identity.>> First pic is from my own instagram. Pic 2. Pic 3. We have come, as one heart As one voice To join heaven's endless song On the earth, lifting up Our adoration, towards Your throne Praises rise, songs of love Are now ascending For the King, for the Lamb Who gave His life to save us A sacrifice of living praise We bring our all for You have beckoned Us into a holy place A holy love, Your very presence And now we stand in wondrous awe A glory cry we raise to Heaven With holy hands and lifted hearts Our eyes upon our Savior Holy, Holy, Holy All of Heaven cries Worthy, Worthy, Worthy For You were crucified The living creatures call out And all the elders fall down They fall down and worship They worship, we worship We worship, we called in worship We call to worship We sing out Holy, Holy, God most Holy Worthy to receive all glory Heaven's shouting as we glorify Did you like my title? I'm sorry if it's uncomfortable. :D The Bible encourages us to observe the nature and learn from it. We all know that even the flowers and birds can teach us about God's faithfulness! We do also learn a lot through observing the lives of the wise and... the unwise, just like Solomon did in the book of Proverbs. This awesome man of God, Mika Yrjölä (miehen koskettava elämäntarina Youtubesta), shared the lessons he'd learned in spending time with drunk people in one of his latest sermons. Mika brought up 12 good points in his message and my post today is a summary of them. (The original video was hilarious and still available here in Finnish) I do not support drunkenness and I encourage every Christian to pursue holiness in their personal life relating to alcohol. Ask God what it means to you! Alcoholism is a painful, tormenting obsession and it can destroy one's life. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. —— And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”Acts 2 Isn't it supposed to mean something that people mistook the Holy Spirit for new wine? "OH, THE GOOD OLD DAYS! THE GOOD OLD WINE!" I bet you too have heard people longing for "those days" when the Spirit was poured out and it was all well. Are some Christians suffering from hangover? And more importantly, why? And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, ‘The old is good.’ Luke 5:37—39. Did we forget what it feels like to taste fresh anointing? How fulfilling it is! How GOOD it is! What alcoholics say about the hangover is that the best way to avoid it is to stay drunk. Will Jesus find us burning, not lukewarm, when He comes back? We must find out how to sustain the fire. It was the priests in the Old Testament who kept the fire burning on the altar. What is our responsibility? Remember, the fire must be kept burning on the altar at all times. It must never go out. Leviticus 6:6 Here are Mika's 12 points: 1) Drunkenness will change your speech Even the Finnish people (who are well-known from their quietness) will suddenly find it incredibly easy to share their deepest feelings when they get drunk. Drunk people don't have any shame on any subject and they love to talk a LOT. Remember also the "new tounges". ➝ The Spirit of God invates us into vulnerability! He also breaks the fear of men when He comes. 2) Ugly becomes beautiful Drunk people complement one another and they really mean what they say! "You'rrrre beautifulll..." When will our vision change and when will we start to see the Kingdom of God, the church and our lives as beautiful? 3) They are willing to give away anything at any time Drunk people don't count their odds. If their friend needs a coat and they have what to give, they will help. 4) They don't want to drink alone Drunk people want everyone to join them. They will try to make you "taste even one" and refuse to understand why you would restrain yourself from drinking. ➝ When we taste the GOODNESS of our God, we will start to feel the necessity to share what we've experienced. 5) There's always a reason to have one The reason for drinking can be anything: a deep mourning, loss or celebration. There's always a good reason to drink. If not, they'll make up one. 6) They always know where to go to get it And where not. Alcoholics know by heart the opening times of Alko (liquid store) and they know where to get alcohol after the stores close. — Enough said. We should go for it all in, not counting the cost. 7) They aren't proud And that's why it's impossible to offend them. 8) They never have problems Except the one (=drinking, auch!). All the worries disappear when people fill their minds with that miracle substance. ➝ Jesus taught us not to worry. We will get things into the right perspective when the Spirit of God gets to fill us and begin to reveal the true nature of our amazing God. 9) They love e v e r y o n e And they loooove the world! THEY LOVE THE WORLD! C'mon, so did God when He gave us His one and only Son. 10) They love to fight We also need fearless Christians! 11) They believe in impossibilities E v e r y t h i n g is possible for them! And so much so that it seems crazy. — Which is something we should learn too: all things are possible for God and nothing is too hard for Him. 12) They are willing to do anything to get more Are we satisfied? Are we willing to seek Him? How to be content and still always hunger for more? There is a great mystery right there. God wants us full and overflowing! I have experienced the Spirit of God come powerfully upon me a few times during my life and those encounters marked me forever. But... we can't survive with the yesterday's presence. We need His breath every day. Jesus longs to build a relationship with us and it is He's desire to give us power to do all that He asks us to do (heal the sick, cast our devils and raise the dead, anyone?). God wants to fill us up and we NEED HIM. So, let's wait upon Him with eager expectation of the fulfillment of Jesus' promise in our hearts, just like the apostles did in Acts — even though it contains a risk (I won't go there but you can perhaps easily think of all kinds of risks). I'll leave you with this question and bless you with massive God-encounters! Pic 1. Pic 2. Pic 3.
Will you become a revivalist in your own community?
The picture was taken from "BSSM memes" Facebook page.
Just recently I saw a dream where there was a man trying to give someone the Gospel. I listened to what he was saying: "I can't promise that your life will change if you accept Jesus." Now that made me really upset, so I interrupted him and declared: "No! Your life WILL CHANGE. Jesus wants to possess your life!" And I'm serious as I'm sharing this with you. The message of the Gospel is POWERFUL! The same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the death will come to live inside of you as you decide to give your life to Him! That's crazy! And it's awesome! Did you know that there is power in the name of Jesus to break EVERY chain in your life? I mean it. Every chain! There's no sin, addiction or problem that can stand before Jesus, our glorious King and Savior. Do you want to give it all up to Him? HE can do it. When I was a teenager no one really told me about this power available and I found myself struggling with some issues constantly. (At least I didn't let the Word pierce my heart and thought it was not meant for me?) And over and over again I felt shame and disgust because I just couldn't make it on my own! At times I felt unworthy, powerless and weak – not realizing that He had given ME authority over all the power of the enemy. (Luke 10:19) I can picture Him in my mind eagerly waiting for us to use what we've been entrusted with. He's given us the sword of Truth to reveal and cut off every lie in our lives. Let us cleanse our armor from dust. Wow. I remember that one day, in the morning, I was reading the Bible and it talked about the power of grace. That Jesus broke the curse of sin for me. Ah, and right there, something rose within me and I made war! I ate the WORD and it became flesh in my life. It was glorious!!! I became FREE right there, alone in my room by the true power of the Cross. This is the message we should be giving out. Not excusing sin in our lives! Jesus is alive and so should we. I can't apologize for genuinely believing the whole gospel and it's power. I understand that some things may be deeply rooted in our thinking and lives, which is the reason we shouldn't just cut off the bad fruit but dig deeper into the root system, which requires humbling ourselves and letting go of our pride and self-sufficiency. GOD will do it if we ask Him to! Come out of your cage. There's so much more for you to see and live in – a life of abundance in Christ Jesus. ♥ Listen to this song and experience the POWER OF GRACE. He who the Son sets free is free indeed. John 8:36 Jos siis Poika vapauttaa teidät, te olette todella vapaita. Jeesus haluaa omistaa sinut kokonaan!" Olen vakavissani kun jaan tämän sinulle. Evankeliumin sanoma on VOIMAKAS! On aika puhdistaa taisteluvarustuksemme pölystä. Vau. "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" God's love is so extravagant and outrageous. Come on! Just think about Jesus... He displayed the radical love of the Father perfectly. And God is still today calling his children to come back home. "That is the freakiest thing... this is nuts, dude!" "And blessed is the one who is not offended by me." said Jesus in Matthew 11:6. Try it out! Fill in the gap: "Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the ––––– of God leads you to repentance?" Romans 2:4 "Dude, this is not just preaching the gospel, this is doing the gospel! Can I shake your hand?" |
